- From 25 November till 10 December 2005 non-governmental organizations in Amurskaya Oblast, Primorskiy Krai and Khabarovskiy Krai, Winrock International partners, took an active part in an international campaign "16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence".
- On November 8, 2005 Svetlana Gritsenko, regional coordinator of Khabarovskiy Krai, for the Path to Success! program organized a roundtable for local educators. Participants had the opportunity to share their experience using interactive methods in the educational process. Representatives of Teachers' Retraining Institutes in the region also actively participated in this event
- On November 1-2, 2005, Path to Success! program NGO partners participated in the regional conference entitled, "Cooperation between Law Enforcement Agencies and Non-Commercial Organizations in the Work to Help Victims of Human Trafficking," which was held in Vladivostok.
- In 2006 the Path to Success! Program will continue cooperating with 10 nongovernmental organizations in Amurskaya Oblast, Primorskiy Krai and Khabarovskiy Krai. During the coming year they will conduct employment and business skills trainings for at-risk women aged 15-25. In addition to these trainings, they will launch an active information campaign directed at raising public awareness on the problem of human trafficking in the Russian Far East.
- On October 14, 2005, twenty five young people participated in a roundtable entitled, "Safety for Those Considering Going Abroad" at the Pedagogical University in Khabarovsk, Russia.
- On September 08, 2005, the non-governmental organization, Pulse, a Path to Success! program grantee in Blagoveschensk organized a talk show entitled, «I Have a Question» for participants of their project, «Youth to Youth.»
- 29 July, 2005 – Joint actions of law enforcement agencies and non-governmental organizations to prevent human trafficking in the Russian Far East
- In June 2005 Steve Rinder, certified family therapist from the state of Florida, USA visited Vladivostok and Khabarovsk as a consultant for the Path to Success! program. He delivered presentations «A Teacher Effectiveness Workshop» and «Parent to Parent Action Workshop» at the regional conferences, held in these two cities. The teachers and trainers participating on the program had an opportunity to learn new skills and share their experiences.
- From May to July 2005 regional conferences
in Blagoveschensk, Khabarovsk and Vladivostok were carried
out to mark the final stage of NGOs and teachers'
activity under the Path to Success! program. The conferences
were organized by regional coordinators – Larissa Fokina
(Amurskaya Oblast), Svetlana Bazhenova (Primorsky Krai)
and Svetlana Gritsenko (Khabarovski Krai).
- On June 20-21, 2005 at the «Linguistic
School» in Amursk, Irina Babichuk conducted the final
training participant teachers of the Path to Success! program.
- On June 16-17, 2005 Irina Babichuk,
Project Director of the «My Little Motherland»
project in Amursk, organized the training entitled, «Keys
to Prosperity» and training workshop on employment
for 11th grade pupils.
- From June 10-12, 2005 I. Shapirova
and E. Gubina, trainers from the «Social-Psychological
Center» administered out the final training within
the Path to Success! program on «Modern Tools and
Techniques in Short-Term Training Programs.»
- On June 11, 2005 the «Linguistic
School» in Amursk organized the conference on «Youth
Problems and Family Values» as part of the «Path
to Success!» program. More then 100 parents, teachers
and students of different schools took part in it.
- In June 2005 students – members
of the «Young Leaders' School» working
with the support of Uglegorsk Local Public Organization
«Partnerstvo» conducted the survey among the
citizens of the town on the topic of human trafficking.
- On May 20, 2005 Oleg Kaminsky, Director
of «Raduga» organized a seminar on human trafficking
for teachers of school #18.
- On May 20, 2005 Elena Yudina organized
the training workshop for teachers of the boarding school
#8 on «Creativity as a way to Prevent Emotional and
Professional Burnout.»
- On May 17, 2005 Elena Gubina and
Irina Shapirova, trainers from the «Social Psychological
Center» hold the out-of-class event on trafficking
prevention with students of the Montage school in Khabarovsk.
- On May 17, 18 and 30, 2005 a series
of trainings on «Summer Employment» were carried
out at Pedagogical college #3 in Blagoveschensk.
- On May 12, 2005 O. Popovich with
Zh. Dorokhova, specialist of Medical Prevention Center,
carried out a parent meeting in Artyom gymnasium #1.
- On May 5, 2005 Marina Borisova, participant
teacher of the Path to Success! Program carried out the
meeting on «Taking the Teenager's Side»
for parents of 9th grade pupils of school #3 in Amursk.
- On May 6-8, 2005 the training, «Successful
Employment» was conducted at sanatorium «Vladivostok»
within the framework of the Path to Success! program information
component by the trainer of the «Center for Prevention
of Socially-Significant Problems and Rehabilitation.»
The students from local Vladivostok colleges were the participants.
- On May 3-4, 2005 trainers of «Social
and Psychological Center» Elena Gubina and Irina Shapirova
conducted the training «Personal Development»
for 18 students of the Montage school in Khabarovsk.
- On April 29, 2005 a workshop entitled,
«Preventing Trafficking» was held in Vladivostok
for 28 students of school # 25.
- A training on «Trafficking
Prevention» for students of The Far East Geodesy and
Cartography College was held on April, 28 in Khabarovsk
by trainers of the Social Psychological Center Irina Shapirova
and Elena Gubina.
- On April, 27, 2005 in the press-center
of The Far East Federal District a press conference on «Social
Protection of Russian Citizens Leaving the Country»
was held. The initiative for organizing this conference
belongs to Svetlana Gritsenko, the head of Khabarovsk Social
Psychological Center and regional coordinator of the Path
to Success! Program in Khabarovsky Krai.
- On April, 22, 2005 Path to Success!
staff met with representatives of the international historical
charitable and remedial organization «Memorial,»
Moscow.
- April, 19, 2005, a round table entitled,
«Forming Positive Values Among Youth» was conducted
by the regional coordinator of the Path to Success! Program
in Khabarovskiy Krai Svetlana Gritsenko.
- On April, 15, 2005 Svetlana Gritsenko,
regional coordinator of the Path to Success! Program in
Khabarovskiy Krai conducted a workshop entitled, «Employment
as a way to prevent trafficking.» This workshop was
part of a 2-day training on the work of the Path to Success!
in Nikolaevsk on Amur.
- On April 04, 2005, Irina Babichuk,
the Director of the Linguistic School in Amursk and one
of the partners in the empowerment through education component
of the Path to Success program facilitated a «Talk
Show» for local television on the issue of human trafficking
in the region.
- At the completion of the talk show,
the meeting of Path to Success! Program staff along with
the regional coordinator for Khabarovskiy Krai, Svetlana
Gritsenko, met with the Head of the City Department of Education,
Tatyana Anatolievna Kudryavtseva.
- An interactive training for school
and college instructors on «Effective Behavior in
Dangerous Situations» was held from February till
April 2005 within the frameworks of the Path to Success!
Program.
- March, 29-30, 2005, Tatyana Vasilievna
Smolnikova, trainer from Vladivostok Centre «Doverie»
conducted trainings on employment for the students of The
Modern Humanitarian Academy.
- March, 28-30, 2005. A workshop entitled,
«Keys to Prosperity for Teachers» was held in
Khabarovsk.
- March, 28, 2005. A workshop «Prevention
of Teenage Aggressive Behavior» was organized in Centre
«Doverie.»
- March, 27-28, 2005. A training «We
Begin» was conducted by Oleg Bezgodov in Centre «Vzlet».
- March, 2005. Trainers of Centre «Doverie»
in Vladivostok Tatyana V. Smolnikova and Valentina I. Buzina
worked with parents on issues of human trafficking and raising
of children.
- March, 26-27, 2005. In Centre «Doverie»
a workshop on employment was held for students of the vocational
school # 9 in Vladivostok.
- March, 25-26, 2005. Trainers from
Centre «Raduga» conducted a workshop on forming
moral and communicative qualities among youth. Twenty students
of the 8th grade from school # 35 in Artyom participated
in this seminar.
- On 23 March 2005 the staff of WI
«Path to Success!» Program conducted a grant
management seminar for project directors and accountants
of 13 non-governmental organizations that were selected
for funding in the second round of the grant competition
for empowerment through information grants for activities
focusing on human trafficking and values issues.
- March, 14, 2005. Vice-Consul of the
US Embassy in Moscow Christopher Dorn met with Path to Success!
Program staff and trainers at the second Training of Trainers
in Vladivostok.
- On 10-13 March 2005 a 2nd Training
of Trainers was held in Vladivostok for trainers working
on the empowerment through education component of «Path
to Success!» The TOT - «Modern instruments and
techniques in short-term training programs» –
was conducted by Valeriy V. Dudarev of the training center
«Financial House» (Moscow).
- On March 7 and 18, 2005 trainer T.
Seliverstova (Amur Regional Youth Public Organization «Pulse»)
and teachers M. Abramova and O. Dmitirieva (homeroom teachers)
conducted meetings for parents of 9-10 grade pupils of Blagoveschensk
school #25 on «Reasons of conflicts with children.»
- In March 2005, «Oriola»
concluded an agreement with the Komsomolsk Pedagogical University
on conducting a series of trainings for students on trafficking
prevention.
- On March 1, 2005, Svetlana Gritsenko,
Regional Coordinator for the «Path to Success!»
Program and Director of Social Psychological Center in Khabarovsk,
delivered a training entitled «Employment Abroad:
Myths and Reality».
- On 24 February 2005 Valentina Buzina
(«Doverie» Center, Vladivostok) held a seminar-training
«Developing Responsibility».
- In February 2005, trainers T. Smolnikova
and V. Buzina conducted 4 meetings for parents at Vladivostok
schools #45 and #62.
- In February, L. Naumenko, psychology
teacher of the Far-Eastern Technical School of Geography
and Cartography, introduced to groups of new students a
program to encourage creativity and the development of active
life positions.
- On February 20, 2005 Tatiana Chirkova,
the teacher at the Children's Ecological-Biological
Center «Naturalist», held a class on «How
to say "No"» for 10-11 grade students.
- On February 18-19, 2005, in Far-Eastern
Technical School of Geography and Cartography «Path
to Success!» program trainers Elena Gubina and Irina
Shapirova conducted the training «Gender Equality
and Leadership» for first year students.
- On February 16, 2005, Irina Belotserkovets
(trainer from «Center for Preventive Measures of Socially-Significant
Problems and Rehabilitation of People Suffering from Them»)
conducted a training entitled «Overcoming difficulties
in interpersonal interaction» for children in the
Internat for hearing impaired children.
- On February 9, 2005, E. Stafeeva,
teacher of Far-Eastern technical School of Geography and
Cartography, carried out a seminar for about 15 homeroom
teachers «What kind of leader does Russia need?»
- On February 3, 2005, trainer T.L.
Seliverstova from Amurskaya Oblast Youth Public Organization
"Pulse" with the teacher L.P. Beloborodova conducted
a training «Professional Orientation» for junior
students of school #14.
- From February 2 to February 15, 2005
teachers of gymnasium #1 O. Shitikova and T. Nyrkova, school
? 11 L. Voronshuk and Y. Plastinina, together with trainer
N. Kora from Amurskaya Oblast Youth Public Organization
"Pulse" of Blagoveschensk, conducted the parents
survey to find out the main priorities for raising children.
- On 16-31 January, 2005 2-day trainings
on "Techniques of working with the students on trafficking
prevention" were held in Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Artyom
and Blagovoschensk. Maria Mokhova, the director of Moscow
Independent Charitable Center of Assisting Women Experienced
Sexual Violence "The Sisters" and Nadezhda Zamotaeva,
Deputy Director conducted the trainings.
- On 8-11 January, 2005 Elena Gubina
and Irina Shapirova, trainers from Khabarovsk Social-Psychological
Center with the financial assistance of Winrock International,
"Path to Success!" Program conducted the second training
on introduction of value-oriented methods to the process
of study for 18 Khabarovsk teachers.
On June 24, program staff conducted a grant seminar which helped grantees to better understand the major terms of agreements and stages of grant cycle as well as the peculiarities of reporting procedures. Questions on taxation and registration in the Technical Assistance Committee raised special interest among Grantees. Over the next 6 months grantees' activities will be aimed at forming positive values among young people, their families and the society with the purpose of preventing trafficking and raising public awareness about this issue among the population of the Russian Far East.
